Professor Robin A. Leaver
Visiting Honorary Professor
Robin A. Leaver was Professor of sacred music at Westminster Choir College of Rider University (1984-2008), and continues as a Visiting Professor at Yale University and at the Juilliard School, New York City. On 1 July 2008 he was appointed Honorary Professor at Queen’s for the next five years.
Prof. Leaver holds Theol.Dip., Trinity College, Bristol, England; D.theol. cum laude Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the Netherlands. Studied with A. Casper Honders. Recipient, Winston Churchill Fellowship (1971); honorary member of the Riemenschneider Bach Institute (1973); first recipient of the Dominick A. Iorio Faculty Research Prize, Rider University (1997); Honorary Fellow of the Academy of St Celilia, London (2001); Fellow of the Royal School of Church Music (2008).
He was President of the American Bach Society (2000-2004); President of the Internationale Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Hymnologie (1985-89); Member of Scholarly Advisory Committee for the Kessler Reformation Collection, Pitts Theology Library, Emory University (1995-).
He is author of many articles and more than 25 books, including
