Gregory Ferguson, a recent BSc Music Technology graduate from Queen’s, has carved out a name for himself as one of the most innovative dance producers to come out of Ireland in years. Better known as Jupiter Ace, the 26 year old found worldwide success with his hit song 1000 Years. Since then Jupiter has been busy remixing for Ministry, Polydor, Positiva, Fatboy Slim, Sony/BMG, Southern Fried, Skint and Azuli to name a few.
Gregory said “My time at Queen's was a very fruitful one, both in terms of academic pursuits and meeting people too. I set up a small record label with another person on my course, which is what got me started in the industry. I got on well with the staff and received encouragement in my extra-curricular musical pursuits. I was back recently to talk at a Careers Day in the Music Department. It was nice to be able to pass on some information about the cut-throat world of the music industry and to provide some guidance for students thinking about their future careers”.
